Along with the ongoing construction work on our new church, trapeza, and kitchen, foundations and slabs have been poured for two new chapels that will be accessed from the main church. The north side chapel is dedicated to St. Philaret of New York, the New Confessor and the south side chapel is dedicated to St. Glicherie, Metropolitan of Romania, the New Confessor. These side chapels, donated through the kindness of two donors, will effectively double the width of our monastery church which will provide adequate space for the time being for male and female pilgrims. They will be 44′ long and 11′ wide and will be connected to the main church by entries in the liti and the altar, as well as interior windows in the nave.
